What our caregivers help with
- Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and help moving safely around the home.
- Companionship: conversation, activities, outings, and company at appointments.
- Home making: meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping and errands.
- Medication reminders: a prompt at the right time, so doses aren't missed or doubled.
- Respite and overnight support: a break for a family carer, or someone there through nights that aren't safe alone.

SLR provides personal support, not nursing. We don't give injections, do wound care or administer medication, and we don't provide occupational, physio or speech therapy. If you need those, we'll tell you plainly and help you find a registered professional.

Can private care work alongside government-funded home care?
Yes. Many families add private hours on top of the visits they already receive through Ontario Health atHome, for example to cover evenings, weekends or a longer visit.
